India :A tale of two counties

When I was a kid Amitabh bacchan was my hero,I was really crazy about him.the way he bashed up all the bad guys, save the damsel in distress,a sort of messiah of anyone who was in distress. He was tall and handsome a perfect paramour ,a perfect brother ,a perfect son and a good citizen in his most famous flick “the Don”.All those roles he played were simply marvellous, there was no actor better than him.Even as I grew up since I hail from the sangam  city of Allahabad I herd how Amitabh bacchan was one of the best M.P.s this city ever had.His  best contribution were prayagraj  express  and blue line busses in Allahabad. We were always told he resigned from his seat and left politics when people associated him with Bofors Scam, everybody here knows Amitabh could never have been a part of something like that but we respected his audacity even more then.
Somehow events of past few years dent my faith and respect for him.India is going through a very tough time right now,It had been the same since Independence its just now that we all became very well aware of all that. Since last couple of weeks adawassis, landless farmers and dalits are marching on foot to Delhi. They are asking for their basic rights, jal jangal and jameen.Poor landless people who cannot afford one proper meal a day. This is the real face of India,India is a country where 70% people are living in this condition. My heart was in great pain as I was asking people to help with food and blankets for these people.some of my friends were marching with them and were telling me how the tempreture goes down in the night and these people sleep under the open sky, they didn’t have rations to sustain themselves.
In the same time, meanwhile I see the news, really great news that Amitabh turned 70 great I hope he sees many more such decades. But Inviting a party with over 800 guests when our own countrymen are fighting for their right to have one square meal a day?it really hurts, they are our people we should some some sensitivity towards our fellow countrymen. Have they committed some crime?are you any different from them except for the fact that you have tonnes of money.
This India is not acceptable to us,we are just like the farce of mary antonnite’s time.On one side such lavish parties are being held, even our own PM holds a party where the food is Rs 8000 per plate and on the other side our kids are dying of malnourishment. If these people have become so insensitive I think they deserve the same fate as their counterparts in 17th century Paris got.And I think India will see something like that in very near future.
