curious case of the Missing BPL cards in Mira Road: food security or scam security

I would like to share a curiuos case of missing BPL cards in mira road,because of our agitation against the funds meant for handicapped gone missing, we came across a group of around fifty families  of handicapped people who were living in a basti. As anyone can guess these people were barely able to make their ends meet,they did not have clean water,sanitation or even electricity in their basti. This basti was made by the Municipal corporation to accommodate them till the time they found an alternative.This was a part of government land which was meant for open space,on numerous occasions their huntments were burn in mysterious fires that gutted the whole area.These people claimed that it was done on purpose since they ruin the picture perfect view of the locality which has a lot of skyscrapers and since some brand new projects are coming up,the builders dont want this basti in the vicinity.
Anyhow since we had taken up the cause to get justice to them including sanitation,employment,clean water and electricity we were trying to find out why all the kids were malnourished in that basti.

 One of our senior members who works for the rationing issues asked us to first of all check their cards.it turned out that they were not considered Below Poverty Line by the government of Maharashtra.People who were living in inhospitable condition with not even a proper roof over their head and who could not even provide two square meals a day to their kids were not even Below Poverty Line.
We dug the matter deeper,we tried to find out why they didnt have BPL ration cards,it turned out on further investigation that already some 800 BPL ration cards were distributed in our area.Anyhow none of them received that and they were told that there is a quota restriction, so even if they are poor they cannot be declared BPL since the quota has already been distributed.
When we investigated further about who these 800 very very poor BPL people were we are still to get any reply of our RTI,it has been months.
Finally because of our agitation when these people were given 6kg wheat per head the quality of the food grain was not even fit to be used as fodder. we tried to lodge a complain but they fell to deaf ears.
I am pretty sure that with this food security bill a lot of our politicians are going to become BPL,atleast on the records some fictions people will hold the cards and poor politicians will get food subsidy. Food security bill seems more like a ground work for an up comming scam......
