My India Vs The government's India

Yesterday I was outraged with the comment chitambaram made,he compared the price of icecream to the price of rice and wheat. How could he?I am no guru of economics but still I know the difference between luxury items and essential commodities. Ice cream is something the middle class has a privilege of buying for their kids and rice and wheat is something that feeds the poor of this country. I was puzzled, how come a person who has business degree from Harvard commit such blunder while speaking? He had been our finance minister for a long period of time and will again will be soon.
But this is not the first time that ministers from so called government of ours have made such statements, not long ago our rural development minister Mr jai ram ramesh made a comment that woment want mobile phones more than they want toilets in India. Is he talking about the same India which I live in? Because in my country every day I read in the news papers about how the women who go in the fields to defecate themselves before dawn become victims of rapes. So are we in the same country ,it implies that women would rather have mobile phones than the security of going to toilets in safe places.
But unfortunately these are not the only comments, one of our very learned minister  Mr shashi tharoor called the economy class as cattle class. Without even caring how the real india travels. Upper middle class people have the luxury of travelling in economy class in this country. He should see hoe whole of Mumbai travels in locals daily, how the actual india travels in general compartments in long distance trains. People put their bedding in toilets while travelling in general class in india. Everyday on an average of 11 people die in local train accidents in Mumbai alone. But that’s my india, its not the india where these elected representatives live.
I was thinking very hard as to why these people whom we had elected moved so far from reality? The reasons which I can think of is that maybe after looting so much from us they try to console themselves by telling themselves that India is not a poor country at all. And maybe they are not eating from a dying malnourished kid’s plate because no such malnourished kid exists.
But studying it deeper I can relate something for my childhood here in Allahabad ,when I was young my uncle once took me to Anand Bhavan.I saw that his clothes were sent to Paris to get dry cleaned .it was before and after independence too.My Grandpa used to tell me how once Dr rajendra prashad was having dinner with Nehru once, when Nehru scolded the person waiting to  them. He said that the waiter was an idiot as he did not know from which side to served rajedra Prasad without saying a word got up and left. He said to Nehru later that how could he talk about the knowledge of the waiter regarding how to serve foor in a country like India where thousand sleep hungry .
Our country was never actually Independent I feel it was just the transfer of power which had taken place from The Britishers to the Britishlike. And now we have even Imported one which is better. We will have to fight for its freedom again. We will have to work out this time to get independence otherwise we will be answerable to the future generations.
