Six Simple tricks for Shopping on a budget
Shopping on a limited budget is never easy especially if you
have take care of a toddler and his needs.I have learned a few tricks which may
prove to be helpful for others too hence I am sharing.
1.Make a shopping list and stick to it: your local big
bazzars and spencers offer a huge discount provided you know the art of cherry
picking, some items at superstores are sold with a little margin even no margin
at all and most is sold at a huge margin. You should keep in mind the products
with less margin are either kept on the top shelf or the lowest shelf. See the
items and choose the ones offering most discount. There are certain impulse
purchase items ,generally kept near the checkout counters, like chocolate or
junk food, always stay clear of them ,they ruin your budget.
2.Buy in bulk: You should try to buy items like diapers
,detergents, soaps and toilet papers in
bulk as they not only have offers schemes but also are cheaper in bulk and do
not perish. Avoid buying perishable items in bulk. Also this saves your trips
to super market.
3.Carry something to eat
and drink for your toddler of kid while on shopping trip: you toddler or
child may get hungry while you are shopping at a mall, its always better to
give them a cereal necklace, which keeps them occupied and full while you
shop.
4.Buy off season large size clothes: kids clothes are
nowadays very expensive, I personally don’t feel they need to wear latest
fashion clothes, so I buy large clothes from winter and summer clearance sale
for my kids to wear for the next season.
5. Go for non branded items: its really not necessary to buy
all branded items,I personally never compromise on health and hygiene of my kid
so I do buy branded diapers and baby food but for rest of the things I choose
generic store bought stuff, its not only cheaper but many times even better.
6. Buy in season grocery: buy fruits and vegetables which
are in season, this way its not just fresh but also cheap and more nutricious.
